Describe a typical day at Boxfusion
There is a lot of variety in the work that we do as a company. A typical day usually has a mixture of both development work and client meetings.
I have days when I’m more engaged in project-related client meetings, presentations or training; and there are others when I’m primarily coding and working on the implementation of a project. There are times when I am assigned to a single project on which I focus all my attention, and times when I am juggling various projects.
There are usually various internal meetings taking place throughout the day and, sometimes the meeting room is simply in front of the coffee machine. Given the collaborative culture of the company, if any question pops up, there is always a colleague that you can ask and is happy to help.
It definitely doesn’t get boring and I enjoy that pace is not always the same - it keeps things interesting.
What are the biggest challenges you face?
The biggest challenges are making sure that the customer wants are concordant with their needs. Sometimes the two are not the same and, it’s our job to reduce the difference as much as possible.
It’s important to ensure that the requirements we collect and for which we implement solutions are accurate, that they are also practical and will meet the needs of the business. Sometimes the two are not the same and it’s our job to reduce the difference as much as possible.
What do you find most rewarding about life at Boxfusion?
It gives me an invaluable sense of achievement when I see the results of my work and the improvement that it brings to a customer's business. I enjoy the fact that I am able to continue learning things, and get a chance to push my limits and continue to grow as a professional, due to the collaborative culture of the company
I’m able to share my knowledge with my peers which is very rewarding. Boxfusion is formed of very capable people who are willing to help, collaborate and encourage you to be the best version of yourself and for me, this is the place to be.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about a career with Boxfusion?
I would tell them to be prepared to learn a lot. The company invests a lot of time in training and providing support for any new joiners.
